Following the construction of a multi-sports ground at the Manjo Children’s Home in the village of Manjo (Cameroon), Prosperi wished to continue its commitment to the well-being of the children and the care staff.
In line with this, on 6 April we organised a free eye screening campaign in collaboration with our partner, the IDIWAKA association, a subsidiary of the África Directo Foundation. The aim of this initiative was to detect at an early stage any visual impairments and eye conditions that are often overlooked and left untreated due to difficulties in accessing healthcare or a lack of resources.
This campaign identified a range of conditions among some beneficiaries, from simple vision problems requiring correction to more specific conditions requiring medical follow-up. Others, however, who had perfect vision, were reassured by these examinations and received practical advice on how to look after their eyesight in their daily lives – an essential aspect of the campaigns we organise: screening, treatment and education.

This initiative reflects our commitment to taking a holistic approach and making a lasting impact. Following our initial initiative to promote children’s physical well-being through sport, we are now focusing on their health, which is essential to their development and success.
We would like to extend our warmest thanks to the volunteer doctors from IDIWAKA for their commitment, to the local authorities who ensured the smooth running of the event, and to the MCH team for their hospitality and dedication.
