Sharing sport: A day of solidarity in ZIGUINCHOR

In Ziguinchor, in the Casamance region, Prosperi organised a day dedicated to sport, sharing and social cohesion on Friday 27 February. The event centred around gala matches and the donation of sports equipment, with the aim of encouraging participation in sport and passing on the strong values of sport to local young people.

In a warm and festive atmosphere, the footballers put on a great show, playing with intensity and determination. But beyond the competition, the event was a moment of popular communion, punctuated by the songs and dances of a group of entertainers.

The focal point of this initiative was a gala match bringing together four local teams, two women’s teams and two men’s teams.

The mobilisation of women’s football has been a means of reaffirming our commitment to promoting inclusion and equal opportunities, and highlighting the essential role of women in sport and society.

In order to remove material barriers to participating in sports, each participating team received a donation of equipment.

The event concluded with a ‘ndogou’, a meal to break the Muslim fast, shared between the teams, families and residents in attendance. This convivial moment helped to strengthen community ties and celebrate the values of solidarity together.

26 December 2024 in Manjo: A day to remember

26 December 2024, the day of the inauguration of the multi-sports stadium for the Manjo Children’s Home, will remain etched in the memories of the children and staff of the orphanage. In the presence of local authorities, volunteers, the local community and numerous media outlets who had travelled to cover the event, we celebrated the completion of this project with an emotional ceremony. The children’s laughter, singing and dancing echoed throughout this new space, which will now be not only their home, but also a place of dreams and fulfilment.

During this event, we had the pleasure of giving the children sports equipment including balls, sports kits (shorts, jerseys, shoes), etc., so that they could take full advantage of their new facilities!

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this project: donors, partners, volunteers and, of course, MCH staff for their dedication.

For their commitment to supporting us at short notice during this event, we would like to extend a special thank you to our local partners:

The media talked about it…

Conference on an inspirational figure

The first highlight of the Football d’Inspiration day in Senegal was a conference that gave Aurélien, as a professional footballer and inspirational figure, the opportunity to meet young people who are mostly passionate about sport, full of enthusiasm and dreams, and determined to succeed. This highly rewarding meeting turned into a genuine act of solidarity, where he was able to share his experience, answer numerous questions and offer a wealth of valuable advice. Aurélien was thus able to highlight the importance of hard work, perseverance and discipline in achieving one’s goals, whether in sport or in life in general. But beyond the sporting aspect, this meeting was an opportunity to instil essential human values such as respect, tolerance and listening.

It is a wonderful experience that reminds us of the power of sport to unite, inspire and transform lives. With commitment and passion, we can all contribute to building a better future, inspiring future generations to believe in their dreams and pursue their aspirations with determination and courage!

A 4th King Magus in Madrid?

In Spain, Christmas is the event that children look forward to most. But perhaps most importantly, there’s the visit of the Three Wise Men on 5 and 6 January. On this occasion, the young people of Madrid enjoy a Roscón de Reyes and unwrap their presents. But not all children are born under the same star, and for many refugee families, taking part in the celebrations becomes a matter of social inclusion.

Prosperi thus approached the Cruz Roja. The Spanish Red Cross runs several centers for families from 30 countries. Aurélien was keen to make this a very special day for the children and the Red Cross staff. Gifts bearing the Real Madrid logo were distributed. This will allow children to play soccer with the equipment of the most beautiful club in the world! And because a party isn’t really one without a few sweet treats, the traditional brioche with candied fruit was obviously part of the party!

Prosperi warmly thanks all the people at Cruz Roja Madrid who have made this action possible!
